Alicante Airport has a free pushchair loan service in the luggage collection area. You can pick up a pushchair at the following luggage carousels:
It is usually possible to take your own pushchair or buggy through to the departure gate, where you can hand it over to airline staff just before boarding. However, it is advisable to confirm this arrangement with your airline at the check-in desk.
The pushchair will need to get tagged at the check-in desk or at the boarding gate, so it doesn’t get lost. If your pushchair disassembles into two parts, ensure that a separate tag is applied to both. You may wish to consider putting the equipment in a travel bag to avoid damage.
Families with children rarely travel light, so it is good to be aware of the luggage regulations for the various child-related items you may need to bring with you.
Larger items of baby- or toddler equipment will usually need to go in the hold luggage. These can often be checked in free of charge, in addition to your personal luggage allowance. Most airlines will allow you to take two items of baby or toddler-related equipment with you, e.g. a pushchair, a car seat, a booster seat, a travel cot or a baby carrier. The rules differ from airline to airline, so it is important that you double-check when booking your flight.
The items you can carry in your hand luggage are tightly controlled and will be checked when you go through security at Alicante Airport.
In general, liquids can only be carried in your hand luggage if they are in a container of 100 ml maximum capacity, which in turn needs to be placed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag of 20cm x 20cm.
If you are travelling with a baby under 2 years of age, there are some exceptions to this rule and you will be permitted to carry with you the following liquids:
Please note that these items over 100 ml will be subject to additional security screening. On occasions, you may be asked to sample a small amount of the food or liquid.
When it comes to bringing toys in your hand luggage, please consider that any items that could potentially be used as a weapon or that may be mistaken for a weapon are prohibited. This may include toy guns, sports bats, catapults or slingshots, amongst others. If in doubt, please check with your airline prior to travel.

The minimum age for your baby to be allowed on a plane differs from airline to airline. It is therefore important that you check before booking your ticket. Most airlines require babies to be at least 2 weeks old but may make exceptions if you can provide a fit to fly note for your baby.
Generally, babies and toddlers under 2 years can sit on your lap for the duration of the flight. You will be given a special lap belt that attaches to your own seat belt. This must be used whenever the fasten seatbelt signs are on. From age 2 onwards, you will need to purchase an airline seat for your child.
