Coronavirus (Covid-19): Guidance for Travelling via Alicante Airport
Alicante Airport during Coronavirus (Covid-19) – Help us to protect you – your diligence when travelling will assist us in keeping you safe.
HEALTH CONTROLS:
Passengers arriving from China are no longer subject to health controls.
Health control measures for people arriving from non-EU / non-Schengen countries were discontinued with effect from 21/10/2022.
Health controls for travellers arriving from EU or Schengen-countries were lifted in June 2022.
Before Setting off for Alicante Airport
Thoroughly read through all the relevant guidance you have been given by your airline.
Check in online if possible, and print off or download your boarding pass.
Although not currently mandatory at Alicante Airport, the use of face masks may still be required with some airlines and at some airports. Please check with your airline prior to travel. If applicable, remember to bring sufficient face masks for your journey. Remember that your face mask should be replaced every 4 hours to remain effective.
It is a good idea to carry disinfectant hand gel in your hand luggage to be used at regular intervals (must be in a container of no more than 100ml).
Coronavirus – Departing from Alicante Airport
Ensure you have plenty of time to check-in and pass through the departures security areas with any new procedures in place.
If possible, it is recommended that you minimise yourhand luggage.
Only use a water bottle or container at the airports water fountains.
Remember to maintain a physicalsafetydistance of 1.5 metres from other people whenever possible.
The use of face masks is no longer mandatory at Alicante Airport.
Minimise contact with surfaces at the airport.
Access to the airport terminal is permitted for travellers and non-travellers.
Covid-testing at Alicante Airport
The Covid test centre at Alicante Airport is no longer operational. Please familiarise yourself with the current entry regulations for your travel destination several days prior to departure. If you require a Covid-test for travel, you will need to arrange this with one of the local test centres before coming to the airport. On the Plane
Frequently disinfect your hands using your hand sanitizer. Cough on the inside of your elbow.
Depending on your airline, you may be required to wear a face mask for the duration of your flight. Please follow the instructions given by the cabin crew.
If you begin to experience symptoms during your flight, notify the cabin staff.
Limit unnecessary movement within the cabin.
Reduce the use of individual overhead air supply vents/nozzles as much as possible.
Coronavirus – Arriving at Alicante Airport
Arrivals from EU- or Schengen-countries
Health controls for travellers arriving from the EU or Schengen-countries were discontinued in June. Travellers from these countries no longer need to provide proof of Covid-vaccination, Covid-recovery or a negative Covid test.
Arrivals from third countries (non-EU / non-Schengen)
On 21/10/2022, health controls for arrivals from non-EU/non-Schengen countries were lifted. Proof of Covid-status (vaccination, recovery or test result) is no longer required.
Arrivals from China
All health control measures for passengers arriving by air in Spain from the People’s Republic of China have been lifted.
Covid-19 Rules to be Followed at all Times
As of 20/04/2022, the wearing of a face mask is no longer mandatory at Alicante Airport.
Maintain a distance of 1.5 meters throughout the airport whenever possible. This includes the baggage collection area.
Wash your hands at regular intervals for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or, when not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer solutions.
Cover your mouth and nose with a disposable tissue or into your flexed elbow when sneezing or coughing.
For your own protection, please ensure that you minimise contactwith any surfaces whilst at the airport or on the plane, at car hire desks or on public transport such as buses or taxis.
