Over the last two and a half years, the Covid-19 travel rules were subject to frequent changes. Luckily, all restrictions for passengers arriving in England from Alicante were lifted in spring 2022.
All remaining Covid restrictions for travel from Alicante to England were lifted on the 18th of March 2022. This means that travellers no longer need to complete a passenger locator form and there are no requirements to test or quarantine. This applies to everyone, regardless of their vaccination status. Until recently, restrictions were still in place for passengers travelling from England to Alicante. These measures were lifted by the Spanish government on 21/10/2022.
This system, which originally distinguished between red, amber and green countries, is still in place. In October 2021, the rules were simplified and the new system only features a red list and “the rest of the world”. While travel to red listed countries is not recommended, no countries or areas currently fall into this category. Spain and the Alicante region have never been on the red list.
